As lifelong campers, having a passion for the outdoors, and understanding the values of camping with their family, BJ and Caroline Latta were excited to begin work as Co-Executive Directors of Daybreak Camp in 1995. Daybreak Camp’s almost 200 acres are nestled in the coastal redwoods of Felton, CA, a beautiful, natural landscape that campers of all ages can experience Christian camping and all the joys that come with it. BJ and Caroline are pleased to live onsite year round and welcome all who cross the white wooden bridge to drive through the Daybreak gate.

BJ and Caroline have been involved in Christian ministry since their marriage in 1965. Caroline has a passion to teach children the love of Jesus. BJ has served in the local church teaching, working with young people and adults and in many other roles.

BJ, a ham radio enthusiast since age 11, worked previously as Chief Engineer of several broadcast television stations, AM and FM radio stations and in management at magnetic media companies. Caroline, a homemaker and volunteer for their children’s school classes, entered the work world as a secretary for their church and worked closely with the children’s minister. BJ’s experience in managing engineering, manufacturing and research and development organizations is very beneficial for planning the budgets and handling all aspects of Daybreak. Without the experience of working with the children’s minister, Caroline would not be able to plan and prepare for camps.

Since arriving in the spring of 1995, BJ and Caroline have developed personal relationships with many youth. They are happy to provide a caring place for children and young people, where Christian values are taught through the camping experience. They both enjoy meeting and making friends with kids of all ages.
